So I had it all planned. I was going to my first AA meeting on sunday night. I was looking forward to it too, proud of myself for taking that step.
However, I never went... got lost in the botle, as I do everynight.

Christine -

Glad you're thinking about it. It's a hard step to take but will be well worth it. I was so scared my first meeting and then I was fine after that.

Now I love to go and get all hugs from my friends.

Keep trying!

Tranquility

I said this in another thread, but I love this line.....we can never fully appreciate a victory until we experience defeat.

You may have needed this to lead to to where you can fully understand that you're powerless over alcohol. And you know what? Go to a meeting anyway. Not if you're fall down drunk, but even if you've had a couple, go anyway and tell them you just can't stop drinking and need help.

Keep trying - my first meeting was terrifying but I met so many nice people there.
The very fact that you're thinking about it,, is a positive step.
