Hi everyone,

I was delighted to discover that my rehab has wifi, so we can use our laptops in our rooms. I'm so glad I can stay connected.

So far so good. There have been a few minor start up glitches around my meds and meals, but nothing too bothersome.

The program is good, there are only 6 women in my group, and we're all housed together on the same floor. But we each have private rooms with our own bathrooms. It's kind of like a college dorm room.

The groups so far have been pretty good. But there's a lot of downtime. In my first week I'm not allowed to leave hospital property so it's pretty boring. Fortunately I have my knitting, some books, and my lap top.

In my second week, I'll be able to apply for a pass to leave the hospital grounds for 2 hours weekdays, and 5 hours on weekends.

Wed. night I went to a service AA meeting put on in the hospital. It was really good. Everyone was super nice and welcoming, and the speaker was interesting.

I'm glad I made the decision to come in.

You're getting wifi and your own computers in rehab? Wow, back when I was in rehab, we got one 15 minute phone call per day haha. We did get scheduled family passes on Saturdays though. Glad you're doing well and hope you're able to make the best of your time there. Also cool to hear that you enjoyed the H&I panel. Hopefully it's a help for you.

Glad you can check in! Wow, only 6 of you with private rooms and baths. Nice!

Can you try and journal during your down time? Adult coloring books with gel pens are relaxing, too.

Thanks everyone. Things are going well. The weekend was really boring, not being able to leave, but I survived. At least I have my knitting to work on - thank heaven's the rehab unit allows knitting needles - non of the other units in the hospital do.

As of tomorrow, I'm allowed to leave the hospital grounds, and my first stop is going to be a Starbucks for a Frappuccino.

And then on the weekend, I'm going to go wandering in a fun shopping district, and go to my favourite yarn store.

There's a N/A meeting tonight that I'm going to. And I'll go to the AA meeting tomorrow night and on Sun. evening. So far I can't convince anyone to join me.

But it's a really good experience.
