Thank heaven's it was a small closed discussion group. Even though all I had to do was follow the script I was so nervous. And when it came to qualifying I felt like I babbled like an idiot. Fortunately everyone was really nice.

I think we all remember our first chair. But now that they know you can do it, look for your home group to call on you again.

Chairing a meeting is one of those times when I am about as far from that next drink as I get. You may find this is true for you as well.

Sometimes I get this feeling when chairing, like when I was a kid, and I was invited to move from the kids table and to sit at the grown ups table for Thanksgiving. It was a good feeling then, it’s a good feeling now.

Congrats on moving to the grown ups table

Good for you! I think my first chair was at a woman's meeting that had about 20 people and I don't have a clue as to what I said!

It's good service work - I like hearing people with 90 days as much as someone with 20 years, you can always learn something new!

My first chair was at a treatment center meeting. My friend chaired the meeting and was going on a camping trip, so she asked me to do it. I had like 3 or 4 months. It was also a speaker meeting, and I couldn't find a speaker. I called my sponsor and she had just spoken there, so she said "looks like you're telling your story" and I was like uhhhh wha? I don't have much time......and she pointed out that I probably had more time then the ones in the treatment center, so I chaired and told my told my story all in one wack! It was crazy!!!

Way to go!!! Chaired my first meeting last night So many people just can't force themselves to try this, and you have risen above the rest by doing so! TC
