I'm really excited. Today, Sun. the 26, is 9 months sober for me. This is the longest I've made it in at least 5 years, if not longer.

And I'm feeling good. I'm enjoying sobriety. I still get occasional thoughts of drinking, and the odd really bad craving, but I'm able to dismiss both really easily by thinking the drink through to the end.

I'm really excited that in 3 months, one day at a time, I'll have a year sober, because I want to get a tattoo with my sobriety date on my arm.

I was a really bad alcoholic, drinking a 26'er of whiskey a day when I'd relapse, so if I can get sober, anybody can. Just don't give up and get as much IRL support as you can.

splitimage...don't ever give into those cravings
After 8 years I did give in and I have never been able to get more than 1 to 2 months sober again.

Congratulations on your sobriety...life IS much better sober.

I'm so happy for you splitimage. I know the struggle has been very deep for you. I often think of my Mom when I read of your sobriety because she basically drinks a litre of whiskey a day. And I know that she has a chance at a few good years if she stops.

I'm getting my sobriety tattoo later this month. I'm almost at 2 years. It is a very deep feeling of freedom not drinking. My tattoo will say that.
