My husband and I have been married for (almost) 14 years, and have used throughout the entirety of our marriage. I do not want to live this life anymore. I have been taking steps to actually get and stay clean. He is not. I had almost 1 month clean and relapsed last night. We used together. It is all so messy. I'm lost and confused. Remain married, and in active addiction-tearing apart my children; or leave, become clean, and be... well... happy. Ugh! What to do.
Has any of you gotten clean while remaining married to an active user? If so, how did you do it? Thanks all.

I got clean while married... though my wife wasn't a user. She didn't even know... When I told her ,she supported me and helped me get clean even though she should have kicked me to the curb. She is a great woman! Anyway I've been clean now over ten years...one day at a time.
