By dogs,I mean addicts. Another good friend passed away on Wednesday evening.
You Think it might serve as a warning, but it doesn't.
He didn't pass from an overdose.
He contracted Cancer, but the decades of abuse left his body unable to do anything but quite literally waste to nothing.
It metastasized inside of 3 weeks and he was gone.
Thankfully his ex wife to ok him back into her home a few days before he died so he was alone in some squat or hospital bed.
She is a truly amazing woman, one of the few true Christians I have ever met.
I don't use that term often because of the common misuse of it.
Funny how the worst things happen to the best of us.
Anyway that's enough for now, just needed to vent a little.

Sympathies, Erebos. It is just simply hard to lose people from our lives, no matter what the circumstances -- but I agree, there seems to be a pattern almost, of people who have had their physical resources drained out by years of problems (not always addiction, but sometimes) -- and then cannot fight off a sudden challenge from any direction bc their bodies simply have nothing left.

(...well that was a convoluted sentence...sry! )

It's so good that your friend had a warm and supportive relationship w/his ex, and she stepped in and made his remaining days easier. That is so rare! She must be amazing.....

Hugs to you. Hard stuff is just...HARD.

xo,

Chyia, wishing you comfort
Thanks for this!
