7 MONTHS! 213 days today! Once upon a time I relapsed after 7 months back in 2016. I figured it was long enough being sober so I celebrated with drinking. ☹️

That was then…After a few painful years later the withdrawals between binges took its toll. I finally had enough. Glad I didn’t exactly hit rock bottom but I knew I was eventually headed that way if I didn’t quit. By God’s grace he helped me get there.

For those still struggling, don’t give up. You’ll eventually succeed.

Congratulations on hitting 7 months. It's tough going some times, but you're doing it. Keep up the good work.

It’s not everyday. Just some days. Especially during the 30 day milestones. They say symptoms come around then. And those days they come, its a certain time of day like late afternoon or early evening…like “muscle memory” of the times I start drinking. 🙁🙁🙁
Still don’t ever wanna go back to the nightmare withdrawals I had when I was drinking.

Still gonna press forward on this journey of sobriety. 😐🙏🏾
Keep working at it. It will get better. Don’t give up.

Thanks buffy, I will. Still a bit difficult after 230 days now but I press on.

This covid environment is causing so much stress to this already complicated situation ☹️

319 days. That’s 10-1/2 months. I’ve had many phases of recovery since day one. Thought once I got past the paws, the cravings, the emotional dry drunk thinking….It’s been the return of anxiety, depression, and other symptoms that keep trying to get me to throw in the towel and just drink.

I guess this is how it is…part of the healing process especially when brain chemistry is still trying to balance itself out. I read over and over again through numerous references, the brain neurotransmitters take time to heal and get back to pre-drinking normals.

I’ll keep looking forward to that time when I won’t have any issues to occupy my mind and ruminate over.

I’ve been there..…I believe I’ll get there again.

Congratulations on hitting 10 1/2 months. That's really awesome. I know it's hard but you're doing it. I don't know if this helps or not, but it was about a year when my brain started to feel like it was "normal" without alcohol, but everyone is different.

Keep it up, it does get better.

Thats awesome @Introvrtd1! on 12/13 I will have 9 years. IME the first year was all about building a network and routine and not drinking. I used AA so that is a big part of my story. Do you have a psychiatrist?
