I saw my counsler today and she asked how many days its been since my last drink. I said, well i actually havent counted the days this time. So she looked back in her calendar book and found where that first day was. Then she looked up at me and said today is one month exactly.

I'm working hard to stay clear of that stuff. Went to a neighbors jewelry party this past friday and my god the liquor they had there. 30 something people and each and every one drinking something. I held so tight to my water and stayed about an hour then booked it out of there.

Trying my hardest to keep that determination. I've told a few more of my friends and they all said they are here to support me. So my support group has grown some since last time. Even if that support is through emails and phone calls. Its still there.

Just wanted to let ya'll know how i been doing lately with this business.

Hey Chal - missed ya!

Yeah, I feel ya.

I was at the Gainesville Raceway this weekend for DRAG RACING. Alcohol central. The guys we were with started drinking around 1 PM on the second day.

Thank god we rented a hotel room. I was READY to go when the beer came out. Temptation out the ying yang. Sadly I have had to isolate myself from so many people because of it.

I'm pullin' for ya!

hey Chalm, glad to hear from you. And I'm glad you have some IRL support. Quitting drinking has got to be the hardest thing I ever did, but it's also the best thing I've done for myself. Hope someday you'll be able to say the same.

Thank you all. I'm still sober. Put myself to the test again yesterday. I went to Harrahs Casino. Sitting there at the machines watching the people next to me ordering beers, white russians, the whole works. I stuck to my water and sprite and made it through with no major urges to drink. I had one waitress ask me why the heck i dont want a drink with liquor in it when people my age usually are drinking heavily in there. I just told her its not my day to do that. She said your in AA are you. I told her no, but i am eager to be sober and doing well so far. She said i'm also on that road and its hard for her with having to serve all those mixed drinks, but she's doing okay with it.

I really never expected to hear that. And no, i didnt win a thing. Wasnt lucky on the machines yesterday.
