I met some more people. The woman who introduced herself last time wasn't there. Sad. Oh well.

I got another "desire chip" because I drank on Saturday. Second AA meeting I didn't even realize it was alcohol until I ordered it and started to drink. (Which is a lousy excuse, but I hadn't intended on drinking, really).

Started reading the "Big Book" of AA. Kinda dull, kinda interesting.

I'm not one for "day by day" as much as I should be... so I'm pledging that I won't drink for a month. I will not. I can still do it day by day, and reevaluate my "need" to drink if needed, but I'm going to try to make it at least a month, ok?

Second AA meeting to all.

Christina,

Well done for going to a second meeting. I'm glad you met a few more people.

Good for you for deciding to try not to drink for a month. I know I had trouble with the day to day concept at first, because I'm a serious planner. Now I really view it as remaking my commitment to myself every day that today at least I'm not going to drink.

All the best.

Another book to look at "A Woman's Way Through the Twelve Steps" ..... you can get it used from amazon for $3.75 USD :-)

There is also a workbook of the same name which is very good. Of course, everyone needs to read the BB because it's a classic, but the above book might be very helpful.

A Woman's Way through the 12 steps is really good. I have it and the workbook. There by Stephanie Covington. I find the workbook exercises are really good.
