This sort of started after the last time I was hospitalized for the anorexia almost 8 years ago....but it's been getting worse & not better.
Sometimes I don't get around to eating for a day +/- a few hours.....when I eat the food goes through & I need a bathroom close by....almost before I even get finished eating. I had a fish dinner yesterday & it caused a problem...but not as bad as today......I have been wanting to BBQ this duck a la orange I bought at the grocery store.......I didn't even take a bite before it hit.......know duck is rich but it tastes so good on my new BBQ & with the fresh corn on the cob done on the BBQ also.....only problem is that this problem also causes me not to want to eat because I feel so miserable & then it makes my stomach feel sick on top of it......there are times when my body just feels better when it doesn't eat,,,,,ugh. Just wondering of others experience anything similar when eating after not eating for awhile

I had to start out with Greek yogurt/plain. I found that it has live bacteria to help my stomach. I eventually was able to add fresh blueberries, or raspberries. other food was too heavy and would go right through me or I would feel sick. my husband gave me some dark chocolate to eat and i was able to eat it. I have found that eating foods that are not too heavy or rich worked for me.

Long-term eating disorders ruin the digestive track and frequently cause digestive disorders such as GERD, IBS, and Crohn's. What you're describing could be a symptom of IBS. I would recommend discussing it with your doctor, since it will interfere with your ability to follow a meal plan, eat healthy, and recover physically.

I have noticed this time around after normalizing my eating that there is something wrong with my stomach. It usually happens after breakfast, but sometimes after lunch and/or dinner as well, that I feel sick to my stomach after eating. Doesn't matter what I eat, how much or how little. Sometimes it's so bad that I have to lie down. At the very minimum I have to stay still until it passes, which could be minutes or hours. It's a very uncomfortable, strong nauseous feeling, like the feeling I have when I'm on the verge of getting sick when I have the stomach flu. It freaks me out every time. And I have gone to the doctors numerous times, gotten all the digestive tests done - even xrays - and they've all come back normal.
My ED doctor, though, last time I saw her, suggested I talk to a psych about it because it could be caused by one of my meds. I'm going to look into it should they decide my case warrants looking into (I just moved to a new area and had my MH intake yesterday).

I had vitimines react like that in my system.....& also had meds....prozac & wellbutrin were both reacting like that which were the initial trigger for the first time I struggled with the anorexia. I always had the tendency to want to stay in control of my weight...so when the meds created the catalist for it in the first place....it was the natural outcome....but meds can have a serious effect on our feeling sick to the stomach.
The last time when I was in the hospital after going through the trauma, my GP put me through absolutely every possible test they could come up with in the hospital as to why I physically might be feeling so sick that I couldn't eat....wanted to rule out everything physical while he had me in the hospital....while in reality, it was the trauma that I had gone through & the whole previous 6 months along with my foal's injury 3 weeks after she was born & I was so afraid I was going to loose her also after all the others I had lost.....there was just too much stress piled on top of me for my body to handle....but at least everything physical was ruled out & the hospital bill was sky high that my H chose to ignore just like everything else......that was also the final straw that destroyed the marriage even though he's done many things after I kicked him out of my life & before I could get the divorce. Sometimes there are a huge number of things on top of the meds that can cause the nausea feelings....it's difficult to sort through all the possibilities at times. ![]() I absolutely hate that nausea feeling & it was something that I constantly felt as a kid because my day would keep asking me if I really didn't want more to eat until I would end up sick because I didn't know how to say NO, I don't want any more.....when in reality, my dad was really just trying to be nice & make sure he wasn't eating food that I really wanted.
