I just wondered what really is obsessive exercise?

AND…

Excessive exercise, how much is too much in terms of someone with an ED?

I do go to the gym alot and feel really guilty if I don’t go, I haven’t been diagnosed with an ED but some of my friends keep bringing it up and I just wondered if anyone could help explain

Thanks!

Just my opinion, I think it becomes obsessive when it starts to take over other areas of your life, i.e. you're late for work, skip plans with family/friends, always pick exercise over any other activity you used to/still do find enjoyable, work out when you're sick, hurt etc.

The AHA (American heart association) recommends some kind of physical activity for 30-60 minutes most days of the week. Since my perception of what's reasonable and what's excessive is completely skewed, I try to use that as a general guideline and not go over it. It's hard though. I struggle with this one a lot...
Thanks for this!
