I have thought long and hard about getting a tattoo and have decided that I really do want to get one. I want it to represent what ive been through in my life: depression, anorexia, anxiety and self injury. I want it on my wrist and not to be too big, maybe a word or short phrase... Any ideas for what I should get? Words or phrases I can use? Symbols etc?

my friend got phoenix, as a symbol of defeating depression and reborn, quite common idea, but good representation for this I think

There's a lot of beautiful Celtic imagery out there that represents healing, hope, perseverance, etc. Maybe try googling a few key words and then hit "Images" and see what symbols come to mind. You can always take a few things in to a tattoo artist and then that person can blend them together. Sounds like fun!

Think it depends how obvious you want it to be... my first thought would be an awareness ribbon, but then you'd have people asking what it's "for".

I just got the recovery symbol on my wrist when I reached a certain weight goal (gaining because recovery, not losing haha :P )
