Taken the MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) before? I just found a pretty legitimate, automatic-scoring version of the test perchance. Since I couldn't get to sleep, I figured I'd give it a go. Nothing better to do & I love wasting my time on silly online quizzes!
I've since sent my old scores to the recycle bin... But when I took the inventory the first time, it said I was lying to make myself sound worse than I really am even though I was answering with absolute honesty! My test was, for all intents & purposes, invalid. I decided to take it again after I drank a coffee, took a painkiller, & decided I'd lie about a few answers to make myself look more "realistic"... Now my psychopathic deviant score is 20 points less, but I'm evidently not lying my *** off.
I'm just wondering -- What gives? Is it really that outlandish for an antisocial/psychopath to be totally honest & they have reverse engineered some of the answers to account for it or what? I was just doing the thing out of curiosity, but now I'm wondering if anyone else had similar experiences?

And also, if anyone's bored: http://kevin-goodman.com/?p=1245
This test is fairly short & I like the concept behind it. I scored Se-Am-Mo-Ap-En/Ti-Ln-Ls-Ma-Sn-As. You'll find out what it means when you get around to it. ; )
Thanks for this!

I have taken the MMPI and other versions of the MMPI through my treatment providers..

the ones online are not reliable they dont take into consideration such things as the oral interview with a psychiatrist who is administering the test, other things that the MMPI tests omit is your family, cultural history, medical and psychiatric, IQ and many other parts of the diagnostic process..

the tests you find online have also been drastically edited according to what the poster who placed the tests on the websites wants you to aim for...example if the person who uploaded the test omits any of the suicidal questionaire a person who is on step away from committing suicide will get the results for their self stating they are not depressed and not suicidal...

and vice versa sites that focus on for example psychosis may edit their version so that who ever takes the test will come up showing they are psychotic....

theres also something else to consider... the psychiatric tests that are found online are grossly outdated by a yr or more. for example one MMPI test still has depression listed as a hysterical womans disease. every depression oriented question targets females not males... depression as a hysterical womans disease was outdated back in the 1970's.

if you really want to know where you would score on the MMPI with accuracy contact your treatment providers, they can help you get referred to a psychiatrist in your location that does diagnostic testing.

Years ago I read about the concept of “reverse shadow”, I think, in Jungian psychology. While most people put their selfish, destruction impulses in their unconsciousness, people with a reverse shadow do the opposite.

Could that be your situation, Shay? (And I hope you don’t mind if I shorten your name. You can call me “here” if you like.) Caring, prosocial impulses could conflict with antisocial ones, causing anxiety, hence they are “banished”.

amanda: Well thank you. I pretty much figured as much. But I made a safe bet that a lot of people here might have taken the online version, so I wanted to see if anyone else had received a similar score, seeing as all other factors are unaccounted for. Just a curiosity thing, really.

here: Well if you're implying that I am totally uninhibited about what a genuine asshole I am within, then you'd be correct. Being at peace with that reality lets me function better because at least I have a basis in which to inverse my behaviours so no one else has to see too much.

It's just stupid. I'm evidently too disturbed to be telling the truth! So I had to blatantly lie to make my score reflect validity, which should be the total opposite... Meh, it was just for entertainment, anyway.
Thanks for this!

LMAO humans are self-centered, so naturally that's how they write their questions. Personally, if I felt that way, that question would be a no-answer.

I really liked the premise behind that test. Wonder if there's a clinical one like that, so people don't get misdiagnosed with ASPD if they have another issue that it could be confused with?

Congratulations - you have completed The Online Psychopath Self Assessment Test. Your personality profile is Se-Am-Gr-Ap-En/Ti-Hn-Ls-Ad-Sn-Sc.

So I was bored. Here's my score. Always looking for an online quiz to pass the time so thanks for this. Apparently I am potentially sociopathic with a narcissistic personality for those who don't want to bother looking up the guide.
