I have AsPD.

I think they were afraid to say I had it until I questioned why my pdoc called me a psychopath. Now it's in the open and they told me.

Anyway, obligatory "welcome to the boards" are not really needed. Carry about your daily lives.

I have NPD, so there's some similarities afoot. I knew there had to be some reason that I always appreciated your offhand callous remarks, lol.

It can get entertaining here on the dark side every so often. We lied about having cookies but we have other things. Hehehehe.

I'm new here so this is probably a stupid question, are you saying ASPD is synonymous with psychopathy?

Some psychiatrists, believe they are the same, yes. Think it goes against the American definition though.

I'm not sure, don't really know much about it. I don't think I'm a psychopath though, I care about a circle of people. Not sure if psychopaths have that.

Thank you. I know my mom displays the BPD trait of hermit. I'm just starting to read about psychopaths . I may post one of the red flags, tie it to what it did to me, and ask for confirmation, if you think that's a good idea?

This post fits in with people who make a distinction between a "sociopath" and a "psychopath". Some say that "sociopaths" in contrast to their "psychopathic" cousins can have a close circle of people that they do care about while not giving two shits about anyone else.
