I need to find a way to calm down a bit. I tried ativan yesterday but instead of making me feel better it made me feel worse. I took more today the same thing happened. Are there foods that calm us down? Drinks beside alcohol. I need something soon. Life situations are hard to deal with.

Thanks ozzie and wi fighter for responding. I am going to look for some of those teas and drink warm milk at bed time. I have to find something rather than looking for pills around the house to calm me or numb me. I seem to be ok during the day. After 5 it starts getting real bad and the manic side seems to trying to take over.

Chamomile Tea. Works nicely. There is also a great calming tea's made by celestial seasonings. Any grocery store carrys them. I stock up on the "tension tamer" and the "sleepytime". They are my favorites. Also check your local GNC or Nature store, they carry alot of herbal teas for calming as well. Good luck. Take care.
