I have anxiety... and it always comes in the evening, and I feel like tearing stuff up! I throw fits in my room, and my best friend is a stress ball because I like to squeeze things, it calms me down.
who else feels like this? :P |

Hello bri456, welcome to psych central.
I also suffer from anxiety, especially at night. I have found therapy and meds very helpful for my anxiety. Here is a link to the anxiety forum here, http://forums.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9 If you have any questions feel free to private message any community liaison or moderator, here is a link to a list of forum leaders. http://forums.psychcentral.com/showgroups.php ![]()

I have anxiety, only I direct it all inward, towards berating myself for things long ago, kind of a 'geez people in this world have been mean to me' and dreaming of ways how to prove that this world was terrible to me..
Perhaps I can pick up on your outward anxiety and I could pull the IN, OUT!! Perhaps you could use some inner thoughts to figure out where it is coming from .......................we can work well together! ![]()

Take a deep breath in through your nose and let it out slowly through your mouth for about five or ten minutes .
Repeat after me ....."it's only anxiety , nobody ever died from anxiety." Go to the library and get a book on meditation or yoga. Ask your Pdoc if your anxiety warrants medication . Go for a walk with your MP3 player . Jog a few miles . Go for a bike ride. Get a cat or dog . Learn better coping skills . Think positive. I've tried all of these and still manage to have anxiety . But it can be reduced to where it's bearable . Good Luck Bri . ![]() ![]()

I have had severe anxiety for many years now... I get to where I can't breath and I totally freak out I am on meds that help with other problems but the doctor doesn't think that my anxiety is worth acknowledging... she just wants me to talk things out with my therapist... the breathing exercises that she has taught me help a little but there are times that I can't even go out of the house because it is so severe.
Meds for anxiety are probably the next thing on my list to talk to the doctor about. |
