They say that you shouldn't panic...but who are "they". If only everyone knew how we felt when the panic overcomes you, it draws you in, ever so tightly. We can feel it in every word, every breath and every step. The meds don't work for me. It is so scarry when you can't take a full breath. My head starts spinning and I only can hear a slight roaring noise, kinda like the sound of a flowing river. You try the breathing exercises that "they" teach us, with no avail. What do you do untill you finally can catch that first full breath and you hearing returns to the "real" world.

When I am in a panic attack and have tried all their breathing exercises, if they don't work(usually they do if I remember to do them) I have found that it's best to just ride it out until you can catch your breath. ![]() ![]()

I understand about the attacks. I hate it when the meds don't work and the breathing exercises don't work. It is very hard to concentrate on your breathing when your heart is racing, but like Gimmeice said, you have to ride them out. I know easier said than done. You can ask your doctor about different medications that can help reduce them. I know my doctor had to change my meds and dosages a few times. I wish there was a cure all for you, but a lot of us here at PC understand what you are going through.

I would tell the Dr. that you need to try something until something works. Thoses stupid attacks are terrible. Just know that your not alone with this.
