hi-

i saw that you posted something on the schizophrenia forum quite a while ago asking if there is a relation betweeen OCD and schizophrenia. I dont know if you still come around here or not, but anyways,i posted a reply to the question you asked. I just wanted to let you know that i think you might find what i wrote to be helpful.

just to summarize what i posted...
about 50% of schizophrenic experience OCD-like symptoms. I dont know if this means that schiz and OCD are related or not, but i've read that schizophrenia is often concidered many mental illnesses all wrapped up into one. For example, schizophrenics can experience a variety of symptoms such as: depression, anxiety and panic attacks,, Hallucinations, Delusions, mania, ADD-like symptoms, OCD-like symptoms, depersonalization, odd behaviors, thought disorganization/disruptions, etc.

the way a doctor tells apart OCD from schiz, is if the person only experiences symptoms of OCD and not any of the other symptoms required to meet the diagnoses of schizophrenia, which are: delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech/behavior, and negative symptoms)

hope this helps
