First, I wish to apologize to Faye for misconstruing her motives the other day. Please understand that I hav'nt been in my right mind lately and I have had a lot of pent up anxiety and a bunch of other issues. I know you meant well and your reassurances DID help me. I just wan't you to understand that.

Well, I just got back from the ER. It was the new hospital and I had never been there before. I told the doctor all about the bat incident, my fears and anxieties, insomnia and other symptoms and we discussed that for awhile. She told me that Idid not have rabies anddid some kind of eye test on me that they do to test people to see if they have rabies symtoms. I found out that they do actually have a test to determine if you have it but like the doctor asked me (rhetorically) "what are you do going to do if the results come back positive?". "Lay down and die" I answered. "Exactly" she replied.

They I told her all about my going cold turkey after 2 months on different benzos and how I had insomnia, violent dreams, waking up kicking and screaming, the sweats, etc and she was like "oh yes, that's DEFINATELY the withdrawl. She asked me how long it had been since I stopped taking them and I said 9 days and she told me that I still had a long ways to go. I said "what..years or something??" andshe said "no, not that long but it takes quite awhile to get it out of your system. I told her about all the little numb spots, tingling, aches, pains and weird sensations and she said, it was the benzos. I also told me my other doc had given me Vistaril for sleep.

She also told methat the mild double-vision I was having when I turned my head to the side was normal and then both her and the nurse did a little test where they focused on an object, turned their heads and both said they got double vision for doing that too. The doctor also told me that your eyes usually start going at around 40 years of age (I'm 42) and told me that I needed to get an eye exam. She asked me when I had my last one and I said "when I was a kid".

Well, that's about it for now. Talk to everyone later.

Glad you found out that u dont have rabies (I missed that thread), and hopefully knowing the symptoms you are having are withdrawal will also help. It can only get less and less as the benzo's get outta your system, right?

Good luck !
