I have recently developed closterphobia! Stores and people never bothered me before. But I went to the store over the weekend and I felt like the walls were caving in, I couldnt breathe, I was scared to death. I have been suffering with depression and other medical issues but now this. I also am having other panic and anxiety attacks. I do not know how to deal with them and I feel like everyone I talk to is just laughing at me!

Clutch,
It sounds like you are experiencing some new symptoms and it would help to let your pdoc and tx know what is going on. I'm new to having panic attacks/anxiety and am feeling something like you described. My doc has been helping me get through one day at a time and promises that there will be a time when things are calmer. I hope you can get the same kind of support from your doc or tx.

favorite quote from the movie, "ET"
when Elliot tells his friends in the park what they have to do to save ET from the scientists, Greg asks, "Why doesn't he (ET) just beam up?" to which Elliot replies, "This is REALITY, Greg!"

I have social phobia, I hate any situation where I have to deal with others. Medications have had not helped, it seems to be getting worse I totally understand how you feel about things caving in on you. For me the worst is when I have to stand stationary, I'm much better when I can keep moving. I guess I'm not saying anything helpful but know that you are not alone.

Who are you sharing this with and who do you feel slighted by, or laughed at by?

I learned the hard way to distinguish who was trustworthy and who was not..

Had to get rid of some friends, for my own health...

Family I could never trust, sadly..

PC has always been a safe place to come and share and even help others

I hope you stick around clutch
