I have a problem with finances. I get so scared spending my own money or using my credit card. My heart races so badly that I am literilaly shaking at the checkout line. It could be that my mother got so anxiuse around money and not having enough. My co-worker had a bad expreince with credit cards and i am now afriad to use it.

Hi Goldgirl. When it comes to finances and your fear of spending and using credit cards...I say, "Hooray For You!". You're one step further away from trouble with debt (which, that combined with overspending, is the downfall of our current global economy). I suggest having some short term and long term financial goals, eg, buying a new car in the next year or so or deciding at what age you'd like to retire and travel the world. Both of these examples require money. Once you know how much money you need to save and how much you need to save per month in order to achieve these goals, plus knowing your monthly budget, then you can allot some excess cash for yourself to spend on whatever you want. Best to start with some goals and a budget. Plus, using a credit card is fine for building your credit score, but not good if you can't pay your bill in full each month. Just some thoughts.

What frightens me is not having enough money to spend. I spend impuslviey at times and save at other times.

Maybe if you made a budget and knew how much money you had coming in and what you needed to buy with that money it would make you more comfortable? Kind of like having a shopping list before you go to the grocery store and not buying anything not on your list. I love lists and plans when I'm anxious.

Know how you feel. When we go shopping we guesstimate how much the shopping will cost...but we don't spend $5 notes and we just let them build up in the piggy bank so no matter what, we always have an emergency cushion...of at least $500
