After struggling with severe anxiety/panic disorder for about thirty-three years, as many of you know; I know what works for me, and what does not. My new P.C. Physician does not prescribe any of the benzodiazepines. He says that they "Are toxic," and never uses them in his practice. This is unfortunate, as these agents are the only ones that have enabled me to simply function. How many more years of my life would be gone if it were not for these particular class of anxiolytics? I do, however; agree with him that they are toxic, and that they can be dangerous, as almost any medication can be. "Double Edged Sword?" Alas..."One step forward, and one step back."

Oh, I am in the same boat as you. My doctor prescribed me a new med which he feels is very promising BUT I cannot take the benzos ativan and xanax even once otherwise it is ineffective

they are THE ONLY thing that calm me down

nothing else works

I totally understand your plight. You may have to find another Provider? I want to wish you the very best. I totally understand.....

Perhaps this is a new chapter in your life. 34 years ago you didn't know that benzos would help... This might be the start of a new and equally successful venture.
Good luck!

Wow, I'm sorry you can't get benzos. My psychiatrist doesn't see a problem with them, as long as they aren't abused. Klonopin has really saved my life, and sometimes I need it a lot, and sometimes I use it hardly ever.
