is there an opposite of agoraphobia? I spend probably 80% of my time outside because being in the house makes me so restless and cranky which i assume are manifestations of anxiety? I am in there to sleep (when I sleep, ha!) and eat and the rest of the time outside as much as possible. With my laptop of course
![]() I don't know, I've thought maybe claustrophobia except, I don't have much of a problem being in large crowds unless they're really crushing, mob-type ones such as being in the front row at a concert. The house is of a reasonable size, and spacious in design so the rooms are not small, and only our family of 4 live here (hubby + 2 elementary school age children) and of course our massively annoying dog lol. I don't know what to make of it!

It could be a way of isolating, of avoiding.
Does your family feel you are available when you aren't inside? Is this a way to avoid thinking about you, what is inside you...? |

my mother doesnt like to be home. she is not comfortable unless she is going all the time. If she slows down she thinks too much which does not want to do. Its actually avoidance. Dont know if this sounds familar to you. Perhaps yes, perhaps no.
Personally I would be eternally grateful for the opposite of aboraphobia. Sounds very functional to me. But hey maybe thats just "the grass looking greener on the other side of the fence".... or house... or yard... or situation |
