I have social anxiety which I'm trying to overcome. Any ideas about how to go about doing this?

Force yourself into situations that make you feel uncomfortable but do it anyway

set a goal for yourself and accomplish it in a social setting no matter what happens

go to a group event or public place where you don't know anyone and start conversation, don't care about what happens

even though you will feel the opposite

push yourself

Talk to a psychodynamic psychotherapist about the fears that come up for you in social situations so you can understand the fears and work through them.
When you understand what they are, how they work, and what they mean to you, their power will lessen. As the fears subside, you will find yourself feeling much better and able to do the things you want to do.
