Mirtazipine was pretty good. It helped me sleep a little deeper and, suprisingly, had a positive effect on my sex drive, though it really bled over into my dreams. However, what has worked for me for anxiety specifically has been propranolol, which is a beta-blocker.
Thanks for this!

I'm taking the popular Zoloft for anxiety. It took a couple of weeks for my body to adjust but it decreased my anxiety significantly over time.

Hi smokee! Welcome!

I also take Zoloft. I have found it more helpful with my depression than with my anxiety, but it does help a bit with my anxiety too. It helps me sleep better which is in itself worth a lot. I'm on a dose of 100 mg per day. My pdoc wanted me to go up higher, but I can't seem to tolerate anything above 100 mg per day (my anxiety and agitation get noticeably worse at a higher dose and I start getting something called akathisia, which is like restless leg syndrome, but in your whole body.) At 100 mg per day, I have no side effects.

Wishing you all the best!

Hello smokee,

Welcome to pc. I take cymbalta which has had an affect on depression helped me to make moves to leave the house but which I refuse to do without DJ. It is so deeply ingrained, the fear I mean.

Since taking Cymbalta I don't need the xanax twice a day every day, but there are times I get het up and I need it 3 times in one day just to open the blinds, and that usually starts in the morning before I awake.
