I'm so glad you are still reading posts, even when it is hard to get things done. Those forms can be difficult for anyone. You will get there! It's great that you are moving forward; just keep doing it at your own pace. Sending good thoughts your way.
Thanks for this!

((((((Iamwho))))) I agree with OrangeMoira, it's great you're still reading the posts.

I know it's very frustrating when we don't seem to be making much progress. I am very "stuck" around certain things and can't seem to move forward. We just have to keep trying. And keep believing that we will get there. That we ARE getting there. In the meantime, I'm wondering if your hubby could help with setting up the appointment?

Rooting for you ((((((((Iamwho)))))))))

Sundog I'm usually the one that makes his appointments and renews his meds.
Hope I didn't offend any one by using the term redneck, my husband calls himself that. So glad he stopped drinking a few years back with only one slip.

Dear Iamwho, so glad you're moving forward by working on the registration forms. It doesn't matter if you're slow, only that you've started baby steps and are continuing. It took me two years to get back on tract again when I was a young woman. I can so relate to you. You're fortunate that you have the loving support of your husband. He proved addictive behavior can be mended. You two deserve a rich, full life and getting help may open up new experiences for both of you. It seems our minds resist change even if we're not in a good place. So it's a struggle and hard work but so worth it. Sending hugs and encouragement your way.

Very cool that your hubby stopped drinking. More power to him for that! How are you doing today? Ok, I hope

(((((Iamwho)))))) I also wanted to send support and encouragement your way. Filling out forms and doing so many things feel very complicated and overwhelming when depressed. My depression makes me feel like I've lost a lot of I.Q. points. I usually feel too scattered, restless, or lethargic to cook, clean, and address the daily details of living, much less figure out longer-term goals. I applaud the steps that you're taking to get help. I know how hard it is. Byz or someone mentioned an outreach therapist coming to your home. Is that a possibility as a starting point?
Thanks for this!

Got the forms filled out and made the call. They do screenings by walk-in. Will work on getting out.
Lavie, JD did suggest the home therapist. I don't have insurance or the money to see a private therapist. Doubt the state mh will but need to ask.

Sorry I blanked on this idea JD. It is a good idea.

The state doesn't have home help. They are busy and I get an appointment in 6 weeks. Waited this long so it's okay.

I'm so glad you made the appt. That is a huge giant step, not a baby step. These are the steps that begin to build your confidence again; actually doing things you didn't think you could do. I know it might seem like a long road ahead right now, but the first steps are the most important to get us started, it will get easier as you go along. Sending all my best to you.
