This is weird, but I think I might be having anxiety triggered by dim/bad/florescent lighting. The room I am currently living in has this lighting. If I go outside, it seems to go away. Then when I come inside, I feel really weird and icky, esp. in my room or with other florescent lighting. Then, naturally, I want to be in my room and just hide. But I think maybe it makes it worse cuz of the lighting.
Can types of lighting trigger panic? |

That's interesting. All kinds of things can trigger anxiety and I'm sure that dim lighting could be one of them. Are you able to change the lighting in your room at all? Perhaps you could buy a lamp that you plug in at the wall?? Or explore other types of lighting? I hope you find a solution

I bet I could. I think because I have vertigo, I am just bugging out to all kinds of things-being hypersensitive to how things look because I am trying to analyze whether it is normal constantly.

florescent lights flicker. As a person with autism they can set me off in a heart beat if I am not ready. They can trigger anxiety, migraines and many other things. Some times different colors of sun glasses can help. When I worked in an office with those lights I had to bring in my own lamps to keep working. Oh, and old computer screens can do it too. I have a photograph somewhere that demonstrates the flicker with lights. If I can find it I will post it.

Thanks! I did used to get migraines from it. It's one of the reasons I hate going to malls. Maybe that sensitivity now includes anxiety too.

As someone who gets migranes that alone would do it for me! just knowing that a migrane could start because of the light, even if it wasn't conscious, would send me into a panic! I hate migranes!

I would think lighting could trigger. Can you buy a lamp for your room that you really like and use it more than the overhead/other lighting? I would experiment with lighting, see if you can make yourself feel better in your own space.
