Sometimes, like when I'm in front of a group of people, my face will just start twitching. I'm sure this has something to do with anxiety, but the thing is, I don't actually feel scared. And I'm not sure anyone notices. For example, today I had to give a presentation, and people didn't look at me strangely or anything when I felt face twitching. So, how do I get rid of this? Should I try relaxation or breathing exercises? Any help is appreciated.

Hi AliceRain, Is it always the same part of your face that twitches? I had a prolonged period of eye twitching not long ago. I do have a lot of anxiety, but I would find that my eye started twitching randomly, regardless of whether I was anxious or not at that particular moment.
I had this twitch on and off for months. I did go and see my doctor and she said it was most likely caused by fatigue or stress or eye strain, and that it would probably go away on it's own. She was right. It did go away. But it did take months. I would go and see your doctor about your twitching, just to be on the safe side, but it seems that facial and other muscle twitches are a common symptom of anxiety. I believe that certain vitamin/mineral deficiencies can also cause muscle twitching, so it might be a good idea to have some blood tests to determine your vitamin and mineral levels. I hope this gets resolved soon ![]()

I also experienced the random eye twitching. I was definitely stressed with work but didn't think it was that bad until my eye twitching became annoying and I started feeling shortness of breath when I was also feeling depressed. I saw a psychiatrist and took a week of work. It took 2 weeks for the twitching to stop (so it was not eye strain).

Yeah, I probably should talk to someone about this. Oh, and it's just my upper lip area that twitches. And it could be cause by stress. Thanks for the post!
