Hi Everyone. I'm pretty new to this site and am SO glad to have found it! I'm in the midst of a panic attack right now. I've been having very frequent panic attacks for the past couple of months that just won't stop! I'm on an anti-depressant, anti-anxiety med and do have a councelor that I see weekly who has been wonderful. I'm not worried about dying from a panic attack or losing control (totally anyway)... I just need to connect with others who understand this monster called PANIC. I have no one to call or talk to where I live. Thank God for the computer!
Any replies would be greatly welcomed! I'm feeling so so alone and afraid. AlexisMarie |

Hi AlexisMarie. Welcome! I know the PANIC monster well. And I'm also very familiar with his cousin: Generalized Anxiety. I'm so sorry you're dealing with these things too.
This is a great place to connect with other folks who really understand how you're feeling. We're here to listen any time you want to share in more detail what's happening with you ![]() ![]()

I have more general anxiety than panic attacks but I know both very well and I'm sorry you're struggling with it. I, like many you'll meet here, are here to listen and offer support. I've been here for a few years now and this community has helped me a great deal.
Please keep posting and let us know what's going on with you. Cyran0

Hi, Alexis Marie. I understand panic attacks, I have had them from my anxiety mainly when I worry about health problems/symptoms it escalades, or especially when I get embarrased or called out in front of a lot people. I sweat, heart races, feel short of breath. They are not pleasant and can be scary, and cause more panic. I know I thought I was going to need to go to the hospital one time, but my aunt, who's a nurse asked me several questions, and told me to take deep breaths and lay down. After I did that, I got better. She told me it was a panic attack. Scary stuff. Support is here though, I am realizing too from reading this forum it is great to have people who are going through the same problems. We can all provide some help/insight towards each other.

YOU are not alone. I feel the same way although my vitals don't get spiked quite the same. You are not alone.
