The Serenity Prayer helps and it's applicable regardless of what religion you are. Ask yourself 'can I find a solution for this'? If not, then let go of it and take slow deep breaths.

I tell myself, "It will be all right" over and over. Imagine what you would like someone else who is comforting to say to you if they're there and say that.

I don't know if self-directed statements would be effective for me, but lately when my anxiety is intense I say a short prayer over and over again. It helps me get through the worst of it.

"The dogs bark but the caravan passes on" is the only mantra I know. Doesn't tend to work a well as "playing" a soothing song in my mind. Scarborough Fair sometimes helps.

I also tell myself it'll be alright and sometimes I remind myself the feeling will pass but nothing really helps even when I just have a little bit of anxiety. I'm going to try to "play" a song next time, thanks for that idea

well when i am not anxious, i take a few minutes here and there to put myself into a relaxed state and really feel that, so that i can say the word relaxed and my body will know what relaxed feels like. then when i am anxious or panicking i tell myself to "relax. a body cant be panicked and relaxed at the same time." i have to keep repeating it but it usually interrupts the anxiety. i also say "i acknowledge my anxiety, i breathe through my anxiety, i release my anxiety" several times till it releases it grip on me.

I usually repeat "Let Go, Let God" through my breaths. It tends to help a little, takes the pressure off of me and lets Big Guy upstairs take over.

Sometimes I say 'Be here, Now.' 'cause often I become anxious thinking about the past or the present. Or I just tell my self to 'Breathe'.
