Ok so the last while I've noticed that every once in a while I will get this weird brain fuzziness. It's hard to explain but I'm going to give it a go in hopes of seeing if anyone else has had this. So say I'm standing or walking. I'll start to feel as if my brain is numb and in a way detached. It's like a brain-floaty feeling. Not faint-that would be too much of a body feeling, this is sort of dizzy without the spin. Or a more slow motion spin.
So I of course will take notes of what's going on when it happens, when, how I'm feeling etc. And eventually get to the doctor. I decided to post because today it happened and my lips went numb too. I was anxious at the time and it seems like it would be connected. So if anyone could understand that, do you experience anything similar? |

Sounds like dissociation to me, but you should get it checked out with a professional. I use to experience this same symptom when I had dissociative panic disorder.

Tsol, have you ruled out physical causes? That doesn't sound all that different from how I've felt when I've gone (self-diagnosed) hypoglycemic. I used to get that way once or twice a week when I was in my twenties (and typically eating only a pastry or something for breakfast).
There's nothing that says anxiety and hypoglycemia (or other physical condition) couldn't trigger or aggravate each other. |

Phoboxyl,
I didn't know much about dissociation until you mentioned it. It seems as if it could be possible, and related to my pts(d?). I'll try to keep track of it and talk to my dr FooZe, Interesting that you caught on to hypoglycemia, I am borderline hypoglycemic but this feeling feels somehow different. Again, I'll discuss with dr, maybe I've become more hypoglycemic? |

Hi there,
I sometimes get where my brain feels like its shivering and going fuzzy. I cant explain how i feel except that its my brain and its a fuzzy feeling. It doesnt last long, but can happen several times a day. Sound anything like it?

I think it might be dissociation too. A psychiatrist once suspected that I was experiencing them while I was going through a really difficult time in my life. He explained that they occur when the body experiences "stress overload" and can't find any other way to cope. To be honest, they I didn't find them particularly unpleasant and just kind of lived with intermittent episodes for a while.
In addition, I used to experience dissociation as a kid whenever I went into large gyms. I'm definitely not agoraphobic, so I think it may have just been a sensory overload of some other kind. Good luck! |
