Whenever I get even a little nervous of anxious I sweat. And not just a little bit. It's disgusting and gross and all my hair is wet.

I am about 3 months clean after detox and some rehab and don't think it is a detoxing thing as it's only the last month and a half.....

Anyone else get this??

The slightest physical exertion can do it too. But I am pretty sure it's selective to how I feel.

It's how your body is reacting to the "threat." I sweat too but not so much, but I blush really bad when I'm nervous. I still don't know how to stop it. More antipersperent is all the advice I can give.

That happens to me too- except my hair doesn't get wet- generally its my face, neck, back, shoulders that do it the most. If I am in really cold air conditioning, it does make things better. I don't do it all the time when I am nervous- it seems to happen off and on.
I have actually purchased a clear, unscented gel deoderant and started putting it all over my face, neck- anywhere I usually "stress sweat". It feels a bit sticky at first- but once it dries it does stop me from sweating.
I carry the gel stick with me and I may put extra on during the day if needed. I have never detoxed before- so I think it is a result of stress. It happens to me a lot when I am speaking to someone and feel nervous about it. It sucks... good luck and I hope you find some good gel. After a while it will become part of your "getting ready" list in the AM. Good luck! I imagine if you put it really close to your hairline- it might make things better.

littlebitlost Hi, I can relate, This has been happening to me too! All of the posts are great but.....I can put deodorant on my head! My hair gets so wet I have been putting it in a pony tail and at times I can literately ring it out it is so wet, it sucks bad. Although I was at work the other day and it was a pretty stressful day and I didn't sweat! I don't get it? At first I thought it was medication that I was on or not on or stress but I really don't know. Now I am thinking hormones. And it is just head and face not under arms, Strange! If I figure it out I will let you know hopefully you will do the same? You are not alone.

My problem is that I always get a shiny face. No matter what cleanser, moisturiser, foundation, or powder I use. I am using products that are supposed to be 'shine free' and it makes no difference. No one else I know seems to have this problem. Within an hour or two of applying makeup I can look like I've done a workout at the gym. I don't go out without makeup, but even after I've washed my face at night it will usually be shiny by the morning. My skin isn't actually all that 'oily', in fact it gets dry in places. After reading some of these posts, I'm beginning to think this could very well be anxiety related, as I've not always had this problem. I do sometimes go 'hot', like a hot flash, especially during panic attacks or feeling flustered... maybe this melts my makeup?

Oh, can I relate. For years, from about 5th grade to 9th, my anxiety would cause horrible underarm sweating. Gross, right? I knew it was from anxiety as not even the strongest antiperspirants would stop it, and I could feel it getting worse in stressful situations. Since 9th grade, I have noticed a difference, though I still continue to sweat a bit more than average. At least now I can wear most shirts without worrying about the sweat showing, and strong antiperspirants like Certain Dri help a lot more than they used to. I'm now in 11th grade. I wish I could take back all those years of constant fear and self-consciousness surrounding my embarrassing problem. I think the biggest thing that helped me was therapy - I'd started seeing someone in the spring of my 8th grade year. I don't know if this story will help much, but I hope it does some.. xx

Just know you're not alone.

My sister has same issue. She uses the "clinical" deoderant. I don't remember if it was Dove or Secret, but I know it is the expensive version of it. It's like $6 and can be found even at the grocery store, but I've seen a lot of coupons for it. You should try it. It smells good, and she says it works great after years of having to change shirts throughout the day.

I noticed that I get armpit sweat when I am nervous, anxious, etc., or when I've been exerting myself.

The other day I ran into a situation that literally made me sweat bullets, but the moment the worst was over it stopped.

I am the same way cold weather, ac blastin, in the desert, it's always the same people look my way, if i get the least bit nervous, anxious, or even just puttin on makeup worried it won't look right...gotta change my shirt at least 2-3x a day no silk shirts here. none of that cute slick material for me it makes me sweat even more. I use mitchium gel deoderant...it seems to help but nothing makes it go away....not even counting to whatever # I can make is up to, just to get my mind off of the sweating....so i always carry an extra shirt with me...thats my saviour....cause the sweating never stops cause im always in a big panic about one thing or another....
