Had a run in with the boss today. I got over the crawling anxious feeling by eating 3 hot cross buns. Why.

There are a couple of things what comes to mind...
You are taking your mind off the issue of boss and preoccupying your thoughts in this case with eating... And the sugar in hot cross buns will send happy hormones up to your brain and raise your serotonin levels for a short amount of time which gives you the time to calm down off the attack. Nutella works for me ![]() |

I need to control my emotions better without sugar, cigarettes or alcohol. I wish yoga helped me, it relaxes me but I can't just cop a squat at the drop of a hat and meditation isn't my thing.

![]() What used to help me was stepping out for 5 min and making myself think of something positive... Sunshine, smiling people, trees... and if I couldnt physically step out I would visualise a ball of light inside myself... Maybe a short visualisation exercise could help for you? |
