Hello. I come here with a problem that has been going on for months now. I am usually healthy besides recently being diagnosed with GERD and some kind of "inflammation" of my bronchial tubes that lead to my lungs because I used to smoke. Anyway, that's not why I'm here.

I'm here because I think I may have some mild to moderate anxiety issues. It seems to be the worst in the mornings. When I wake up I always feel like I'm in a rush and I can't settle down. I get to work at least 30 minutes to an hour early everyday because of it. Not that that's a bad thing, but u can imagine I'm hurrying. I always feel like I can't breathe very well. Also, you know that feeling in your gut/chest when adrenaline starts rushing through you? I seem to get that, too. My stomach also feels a little weird while this is happening. It mostly happens in the morning after I wake up I start to feel tense. It's weird because I'll feel a bit dizzy, but not to the point where it affects me driving to work. I just feel like I'm not there, like a little delirious. This has been going on for a few months now and everyday I arrive to work just fine. The weirdest thing is, once I get to work I feel fine! Once I get around the presence of other people and get into the mode of working, I begin to feel normal again and carry on with the rest of the day. This is weird!

I don't think that's weird at all. My anxiety is the same - the more time I spend thinking about it & anticipating it at a certain time, the weirder I feel. When I get distracted and start paying attention to the outside world, my anxiety lessens.

Certainly sounds like anxiety and you might be like me...a type A personality. .....maybe.....A thought might be that you set the alarm for a little earlier so that you are not totally rushed. Allow yourself more time to get ready for work without going in such a hurry. I would try an extra half hour or maybe even an hour to get ready, and enjoy the morning. You might be so concerned you will be late or whatever that you go at full speed in the morning and then experience a lot of anxiety!

Do you have worrying thoughts that might make you anxious?

What exactly is a Type A personality?
