I've been having chest pains for a while but i know it can't be from my heart cause i've had all the test even a heart cath and yet i can't shake the fear taht something is wrong or something like that. Maybe it is just stress, Anaxity attacks, or depression but i cry almost every day. i'm so tired of feeling afraid i wish i knew that i was ok and nothing is wrong with me. I started having these chest pains after my dads heart attack. I'm just so scared i don't know what to do?

So sorry you are feeling rubbish ((()))

I think you should start by going and tell a doctor exactly what you just said here and take it from there.

Well, she may be right. That doesn't mean that something can't be done to improve it and resolve the situation. I don't think it's at all unusual for someone to feel what you are feeling in your situation. Something very similar happened to a friend whose father had a heart attack. His problem did turn out to be stress and anxiety brought on by the situation with his father.
Keep looking for help but until and unless there is reason to believe otherwise, you may want to assume that it is indeed stress and anxiety. Take care and good luck

((((Keshia)))) it never hurts to go for a second opinion. Even just to ease your fears and anxiety. It's important as well to address the anxiety with your doctor(s), so they can treat you properly.

I am not sure of the relationship between you and your father; however, something like that is scary, and it's not to be taken lightly. Seeing a parent "fragile" like that is shocking and upsetting.

I hope you will be kind and gentle with yourself, and go to another doctor for a 2nd and also to discuss your anxiety. Being terrified for 3 weeks puts stress on your body and it just cannot be good for you emotionally or physically.

In the meantime, please stay in touch and let us know how you are doing

You should try seeing a counselor, or therapist. Talk to a family member or friend. Remember. You are not alone. Oh, and try to get something that smells of lavender. Its very soothing, It actually helps me alot =]

Chest pain from anxiety can feel more like a heart attack than an actual heart attack. Lots of people who've had heart attacks report they did not even have any chest pain during the heart attack. A regular doctor can do a pretty good job of detecting which is going on.

I have a rather weak heart and I have never had pain from that. I have had chest pain due to anxiety, and it can be pretty distressing. In me, it makes it hard to breath because movement of my rib cage makes the pain worse. I just lie down, and slowly increase the depths of my breaths. This can take 25 minutes to get through, if I am really anxious. I've found that it is nothing like what people describe as panic attacks.

Since your chest pains started right after your Dad's heart attack, there is more of a likelihood that your chest pains are due to anxiety. If your chest pains started at about the same age as when your father had his heart attack, they the doctors would be more suspicious of your heart.
Thanks for this!

I'm sorry you are feeling so scared. I would be too.
Sometimes I have chest pains when I am having a anxiety attack.
Mostly I can't breath, and it scares the crap out of me.

Try and think of the simpilist situation, if you've medically crossed out all the other ones.

My opinion is that it could just be the anxiety and depression. When I have even just a little bit of anxiety my chest feels a lot tighter than normal, and I imagine it could easily turn into full blown pain. This is especially true if you've had anxiety and depression continuously for a while because it never gives your body time to releave the tention.

Try bringing that idea to your doctor, and ask if there's anything you can do to presue that avenue of thought. Tell them that you're worried about this, and that the pain is causeing you even more anxiety.

Best of luck Keshia, and stay safe.

If your dad recently had a heart attack, and now you are feeling chest pains, you could be feeling stress related to that situation. It sounds like anxiety. Just to be on the safe side, you may want to ask to get your thyroid checked and/or do a stress test. Also, check your blood pressure and get in some light exercise. Exercise can help keep your mind clear and is good for keeping your body healthy.
