I haven't been officially diagnosed as I am too scared to see a doctor.

I am scared of being around too many people, I start feeling scared, sweaty, shaking, dizzy, clammy hands and always want to get out of there as soon as possible.

I can't have conversations with strangers such as taxi drivers, when they strike up a conversation I avoid it because I start getting very anxious. I have had 2 jobs in my whole life and I left them both due to being so anxious and scared around everyone that worked there.

I'm scared of starting work because I know I won't be able to work around so many people, or even just one person that I don't know.

I need to work because I need to provide for my family. This anxiety has lead to depression and I just want to get rid of this anxiety so I can start working to provide for my family.

Please help me. Please tell me how you got over it.

Thank you for reading and thanks in advance for your advice.

It sound like u have an anxiety disorder. Please see a dr about it! They are so helpful and they can help make life so much easier! Anxiety is easily treatable with medication and/or therapy. Try to get past your fear! Keep us posted as to what happens next! Best of luck!

You might consider having one of your family members with you when you talk to strangers. Then as you become used to that, you can talk to those strangers alone. The fact that you could start a family shows that you do have some social skills so try building on those skills little by little. There is no reason to talk to taxi drivers. Give the person the address and then read a newspaper.

((((Andy)))) I can relate. I would encourage you to speak with a T about these fears. They are very real. Did this come on suddenly, gradually, were you anxious as a kid?

I can totally relate...when I started my current job, a little over a year ago, I was struggling with multiple Dx...SAD being one of them. Being forced out if the office to go to meetings, lunches, running errands, etc was very difficult. I couldnt tell anyone, either. Which made it worse.

When my anx is up, I hardly leave the office. Things have gotten much better though since speaking with my T. And I have an Rx for emergencies.

You are not alone...I wish you well and hope you will continue posting. Please let us know how you are doing.
