I don't usually post here so I understand if I don't get replies...but I need to vent anyway. So I work in a place where I have to get really "firm" with people who don't show up for legal proceedings. This guy started yelling at me on the phone "Telephone Tough Guy," I will call him...and cussing at me, and I did really good at deflecting his anger and staying calm and firm.
He called back, and I put him on with someone else in the office cause I was shaking so bad. Apparently he wanted to talk to my boss, but the person who was with me heard how I handled everything and said I was fine and even a bit "soft." So now I can't stop thinking that he is going to come in, that he is going to scream at me in person, since now there are more legal ramifications for his not showing up. I also am afraid he is going to call the boss, even though I am in the right. I can't stop freaking out. I am in the probationary period at work right now anyway, so I am afraid they will just say I am not worth the hassle and fire me. IF that guy even calls again or shows up. I am sick of WHAT IFs and freaking out!!! I can't get it out of my head and I am still shaky even though this was an hour ago!!!!!! Any suggestions for calming down at work without being obvious that I am freaking out right now? ![]()

![]() ![]() I cannot imagine a way that you would need to worry about your job. I do understand the anxieties that cause you to think this way. I'm sorry that jerk treated you that way. I could lend you my 120 lb Germany Shepherd, named Vader, to help you out. Vader does not accept rude behavior from low life's like Tough Phone Guy ![]() ![]() |

Sorry that happened to you. I completely get where you are coming from though. Can you do some deep breathing when something like that happens. That wouldn't be too obvious to anyone in the office. I hope something like that will help and you will feel better quickly. Hope that helps.
