I came off tegretol a couple weeks ago, b/c I'm trying to get pregnant, and the anxiety really hit me this week. I guess the med is totally out of my system now. I'm not sure what to do about it b/c I can't take anything for it. I sat at my desk yesterday at work shaking all day b/c the anxiety was so bad.
I don't think I can handle much more of this. ![]() |

((Moreta)) - sorry your anxiety is at its peak. Are you under a doctors care for stopping this med? Some meds need to be tapered off slowly. There are self help tricks like slow deep breathing but its hard to get results if you're super anxious.
I've heard good things about Bach Rescue Remedy but its best to let your doctor know about anything new you take, especially if you're trying to conceive. I'll leave you a link and best of luck with having a baby. The Original Bach Flower Remedies - www.BachFlower.com

If it's possible, you could put off pregnancy for a while, begin medication again and enter "cognitive-behavioral therapy". That will essentially teach you techniques to control your anxiety with or without medication, breathing is a prime example. Or you could enter such therapy without medication, but it can be a lot more difficult that way. Alternative treatments work, massage therapy, certain concoctions.
All in all, I wish you the best of luck and plentiful support ![]() |

I've done so much CBT over the years, it's not even funny. I've been in and out of therapy for the past 12 years. I've done CBT, ACT, and DBT. Nothing works for my anxiety except medication. I'm gonna talk to my pdoc on tues and see what he says. I'm def gonna ask about buspar since it's a class b medication.
