Hey everyone, its been a lonnnnng while since I posted. This morning has been so nerve-racking. I'm sure it's because I have watched way too many murder mysteries lately, but I'm so paranoid. I put an ad in offering babysitting, and got a new baby to look after. Then last night, I get an email saying the Daddy is gunna come stay for the first out to "settle the baby in" well that unsettles me because my husband was supposed to go get the car fixed the morning. I begged my husband to stay, and of course he did because he saw how uncomfortable I was. The Daddy was only trying to pacify the nervous, paranoid, new mama to make her feel better about leaving the baby with a stranger (me). He thankfully left, and he was uncomfortable himself. I just thought I'd lose my head this morning, I was all jittery. Then my husband leaves and suddenly everyone wants to buy the stuff I have posted. It seems they wait until he is gone to want to pick things up. So, I'm all nervous about that. One jackass who tried to barter with me on a price I said I was firm on upfront will have to wait until my husband gets home sunday to pick up that item. I hate when people do that. Okay, I just babbled but thanks for listening to me vent. I'm gunna get some hot tea and hopefully relax some. I've made my stomach all upset. Thanks a lot Hannibal Lector ha.

I've never tried those Craigslist type sites. I'm sure, though, just like in real life there are those "Hannibal Lector" types who try to prey on others. I'm sorry it all happened at once.

I sometimes have to take a break from murder mysteries and other books which portray the negative side of humanity. In fact, I was just asking my fellow book readers here what would be some funny, enjoyable books to read!
Thanks for this!

Just because they want to purchase something then and there doesn't mean you have to succumb to their demands. Make them wait to pick up an item at a time of your choosing ot meet them in a public place. Craigslist is mainly safe but things do occasionally happen. Don't be persuaded to do anything you're uncomfortable with
Thanks for this!

Thanks. I think its more than paranoia. I think I'm just resentful that I have to sell this stuff in the first place. If my husband could actually hold a job, I wouldn't need to worry about craigslist. It's so sad that I give him my whole paycheck for the week from babysitting so he can go get the car fixed, and while he's gone he spends it all plus tons more on fast food, tobacco, and beer. I work so hard for what seems like pennies.

The best author, who is also a comedian, is Chondra Pierce. "Laughing in the Dark" is a fantastic, funny, and enlightening book. She also has videos on line that you can watch (Stand up comedy). I think you will like her.

The shoppers of Craigslist are horrid. Practically non human in their interactions when you are trying to sell items. Always meet in a public place, I use my McDonald's parking lot, and be safe!

I also carry a baseball bat (Not just for Craigslist) in my car, just in case!

lol ya'll made me smile. I'm gunna check out those videos. Thanks

My husband of course is still in bed, while I care for three small children. He makes me physically sick. If I had a family to turn to, maybe I wouldn't be so alone Or maybe I'm just coming up with a bunch of excuses and things/people to blame so I don't have to look inside myself. Too bad therapists don't knock on your door (with a babysitter), and specifically request a session with you. Where's the sunshine???? I need some SUN!

Thank you for the introduction to Chonda Pierce. She was exactly what I needed, especially the more serious videos. The craigslist anxiety and bad week I had feels really silly now.
