Wanted to ask for opinions on so-called "Anxiety Retreat Centres".
Wasn't sure if it was allowed to post links to places so I'm keeping the place anonymous for now. I googled clinics and retreats which offer classic (meds, cbt..) and alternative therapies for anxiety.
The retreat I found closest to me offers 2-4 day long workshops for groups of people who are suffering from different anxiety disorders, such as OCD and agoraphobia. Its website has lots of good reviews (obviously they wouldn't put negative reviews on their site), including interviews with patients that claim to have been cured of their anxiety. Pictures of people laughing and seeming to enjoy themselves really make you think they beat the anxiety I couldn't find any objective review on it outside its own webpage.
I am very skeptical of anyone who claims to cure someone's anxiety, especially in such a short time. No mention of the fees either.. The site also didn't offer details on the exact approach, other than saying that we would learn how to turn off the body's anxiety response.
The only reason I'm still interested in this program is that I don't have many choices left right now other than going back to impatient. Would appreciate any input. Thanks
Hugs from:

chocmouse, yeah, I understand your skepticism. I would have my doubts too. It's taken me many years of therapy and meds to deal with my anxiety...2-4 days and cured? If that was possible wouldn't we all be cured by now? But, if it's your only option to in-patient maybe you could give it a try. Maybe it would improve enough of your anxiety to keep you out of the hospital...maybe not cured but maybe improved......D.

Thanks DePressMe. As you said, I'm not expecting to be fully cured. I would be already grateful if I would learn helpful strategies..I'm going to send an e-mail and ask about the prices..No price list on the website is a bad sign :/

Go with your instincts on this.
Thanks for this!
