I feel really stupid! About a week ago, I saw my doctor about a med adjustment; he told me to let him know if the adjustment wasn't working (ps we had it lowered). But this week, my depression has gotten worse, and so has my anxiety--in fact I had a melt down on the first day it was lowered. I have been feeling more suicidal, more nervous, more angry. So I made an appointment for today to talk to my doctor about it. But I feel stupid because it's only been a week and maybe I just need to give it time. I'm also afraid the doctor is gonna get mad at me for coming in so soon after my last visit.

Your doctor certaintly won't get mad at you. You need to let him know what you're feeling. As for the feelings you're having; Could be due to the fact that YOU know that it is being lowered, and that in and of itself can trigger anxiety. It may not be due to the med at all, it could instead be your anxiety disorder knowing that you are not on the same dosage. People with anxiety disorders (myself included)...When we get anxious, the chemicals in our brain fire a little TOO much and cause us to react at a higher level.
It's a good thing you're going to see your doctor, you will feel better after talking to him ![]()

I am a nurse practitioner and I would be GLAD you came in because your symptoms were worse, esp. if you were feeling suicidal ... it is your provider's job to know how you are doing and by the way, he is PAID for it. We aren't in charge of how others feel or what they think but if your doctor chastizes you for coming in, consider going to someone else. You (and all of us) deserve respectful health care. Hope you feel better soon.

Well, things went well at the doctor's today. He was glad that I came in, and thought we should go back to the dose I was on.
