Hi guys

I had this a while ago but never again. I've read on your experiences on having a panic attack and it seems to be similar to what I had. I was at the bank withdrawing money suddenly I felt sick I felt pain in my chest. Then the pain went to my abdomen and thru out this attack I felt like I was about to pass out my lower legs was numb and my head felt like it is going to explode. Might I just say before this I ate lunch and had absolutely no feelings of panic what so ever. Went to the Dr and they said it could be a panic attack. I don't have a history of panic attacks and that was the first attack I had. My question to you is can you have a panic attack without feeling panicky before?

There's a first time for everything. You don't mention how you felt emotionally.

It's hard to say. The first few attacks I had seemed to arrive without a trigger and involved no precipitating anxiety. These were just a rush of physical symptoms that I did not pair with mental distress, however, I was anxious about those symptoms when they occurred. These attacks were very short though intense, lasted about half an hour, and I was normal before and after.

Of course, once the attacks increased in frequency and duration, anxiety has become a larger part of my life and I know that my attacks have probably always been driven by them.I know for sure that one of these early attacks occurred after a sleepless night, and was during my second quarter of college. No, I had no homework or friend worries, I had nothing to be panicky about, but I believe the physical/mental strain expressed itself in an anxiety attack even when I thought that things were under control.

Now I believe that certain anxiety attacks can be triggered by physical and mental stress, during times where the anxiety is not noticeable. So, although I was not worried at the time, was not anxious before or after, I believe my brain triggered a fear response that manifested the stress as an anxiety attack.

So yeah, I think stress rather than identifiable panicky feelings, can trigger anxiety attacks.

Thanks guys. I felt normal like. It was a sunday so I had no stress or anything. I don't believe it was a panic attack but rather low blood pressure. I just wanted to compare my symptoms with yours. I'm. Prone to low blood presure.

Getting a check-up is a good idea but I have low blood pressure... and I've had severe anxiety problem although not really panic attacks. I've never definitely connected my low BP to symptoms although I'd guess that sluggishness and sleepiness might happen when it's very low.
Hope you get it all sorted out.

The Dr knows I have low blood pressure they just told me to eat salt they cannot do anything I've never passed out or something like that. When I get low BP my symptoms is dizziness nausea and a pounding headache.
