Hi,
I had my first panic attack last year and it was not fun to say the least. I've been having health problem lately and I think it has been a huge contributor. What are some ways to calm yourself down when one starts. Thanks

While it is happening keep saying "this will pass" and try to slow down your breathing. Then try to even your breath. imagine being on the beach with calm waves hitting the. match your breath to that. know that 99.99 percent of the time its not a hard attack and you are not going to die ever so you just have to ride it out basically.
Thanks for this!

Deep breathing is a good way to calm down. Also running my hands under cold water helps.

Tell yourself " I don't need to be afraid of my OWN reactions! Don't fight yourself! Breathe evenly and stay calm!
