I know this is normal when you first start working in a hospital but i really am going through it for about a year now. I work in a Apheresis unit . We work with about 50% hematology/oncology patients. I get the worst anxiety to where my arms go numb or I have panic attacks. I am constantly checking for lumps around my glands to where it starts hurting the area bc I check so much. I get told its normal to at first be conscious about it but I feel like mine is out of control. Does anyone else have these problems?

I don't work in a hospital, but I have heard about med students, imagining, that they have every illness under the sun, as they progress in their studies.
Are you being treated for anxiety, currently? Maybe, mention this to your doctor, if you are. |

Honestly it sounds pretty awful and I'm sorry you're going through this. I do not work in a hospital either so I can't relate. But I remember when I took Foodsafe a long time ago and hearing all the horror stories about how people handle food...for a long time afterward I had food phobia and thought all the food I was eating was contaminated. What you're explaining definitely sounds like anxiety (possible a bit of a disorder) and I think it wouldn't hurt to talk to your doc about it if you haven't already. A year is a long time for it to not wear off.
