Hi! Today was my visit to the psychiatrists for my "social anxiety" and other things.
My doctor prescribed me Abilify, and when I asked him if it was for the anxiety, he mentioned that it was only partially to treat my anxiety but more so something else. He did mention a name, but my brain was so fuzzy at the time, I can't remember what he called it (and I'm far too afraid to telephone him). Well, he said something like, "fixation" and "prodromal" and "psychosis", "but not psychotic". I know he used a term but I really can't remember what term he used. I'd like to do some research on what it is my psychiatrist thinks I have. Perhaps, this is the wrong forum to post this in (but I've been posting on the Anxiety forum for quite a while, so I hope this is acceptable), but does anyone have any idea what he could be talking about? Hope this doesn't sound silly! Thanks. |

Hi Sadplant. Nice to meet you. Welcome to Psych Central. I'm not sure about what
your doctor said, but it sounds like he is doing a work up for something. You can call the dr office and ask for copies of your paperwork. This may help you understand what the doctor is trying to do. Is Abilify the only med you take? Here are a few links that may help you. Take what you need and leave the rest. Sincerely, Piraeus
