I like my therapist. My therapist is really hard core into CBT. The therapist was also getting a bit of my background and family's background. I'm really hopeful.

My first exercise is to practice being "mindful".

When I start getting anxious about something to sit back and take a deep breath and realize it is just a thought that I will dwell on. When I take a deep breath-be mindful that I am in the present. That is basically the best I can describe it. I'm going to continue to practice to see how it goes.

I'm sharing these hoping that maybe it might be able to help others also. We at PC need to stick together.

You're right, we do need to stick together. And it's helpful to others to see where things are working, and what kinds of things work.
I find mindfulness extremely helpful. Not only for my anxiety, but for overall peace of mind. It helps keep me grounded and in the moment.

Gypsy, couldn't agree with you more--we got to stick together here on PC. It's what makes this whole thing work....D.

We do need to stick together, tis true!

I think being mindful is helpful to me too, even though I don't practice it enough, thanks for the advice though, I shall try to do it more often since it helps!

That is great about your first therapy session! I love the idea of CBT.
