So I'm leaving my fast food job because its waay to stressful and causes me severe anxiety every day. I'm trying to think of jobs I can do but it seems like everything would be too hard with anxiety. Am I just doomed to be miserable and on the verge of panic attacks every day? I'm so discouraged

Not all jobs are going to be super stressful at all times. Why does the job cause you anxiety? Is it because of the people you work with? The environment? Customer interactions?

Not sure if you are working part time during school...I know I had a hard time with certain parts of fast food work when I was in college. Dealing with drive thru orders and front customer service during dinner hours were the roughest. But bussing tables or dishwashing during those times were actually kind of relaxing/mindless activities...That's if you have to go that route for now. Perhaps look into something like a bookstore or record store that isnt so fast paced? I feel for you, I remember being tied up in knots so many nights on my way to work and on my way home.

My brain doesn't work properly. I can't remember things, and when under stress it seems to go blank. I can't focus on one thing, I start to do something else and then forget about the first. I've been told I'm scatter brained. My manager yells or gets mad at me that I'm not doing something good enough, or fast enough, I get anxious. I feel like I can't do anything right. Also when it's busy, weather I'm taking orders on cash or kitchen. I get nauseous, light headed, dizzy and have to use the bathroom. Also issues with coworkers. If there are people mad at me or I think they are, I get anxious and stressed out. I just feel like bawling, or running away.

Have you addressed this in therapy? There are many skills you can use for work stress and general anxiety. But if that is not something you want put the effort into then maybe a new slower paced job is for you. I dont really know of any jobs where boss's dont want efficiency. Most low wage jobs have interactions with customers too, and coworkers are also something you need to learn to deal with in the workplace. Maybe data entry? Thats a pretty solitary job. I've always thought being a postie would be pretty cool too.

I can work efficiently, once I have a routine I think I do quite well. I just don't do we'll with someone breathing down my neck or watching me and telling me todo this now, do this faster etc. if I get stressed out then very thing goes to he'll because my brain doesn't work very well as I forget anything and everything.
I don't have a therapist but I'm on a waiting list for group therapy. I also have an appt with my family dr today to discuss it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

Bosses who yell etc., do not help, it is normal to become a bit unnerved by getting too much information at once and not feeling comfortable asking for a repeat/for help.
If routine is important, there are many jobs that require just that, a steady, repeating routine...I think you will do OK---and good for you for talking to your doc. Let us know how it goes.(((hug)))
