I am doing a lot better and I feel like it isn't half as bad but I'm still having a problem with making eye contact and when I have a lot of anxiety I look like I'm staring intensily and I've never heard of or seen anybody with similar problems at all.. wondering if there is anybody with similar problems , is it just anxiety? My mind almost goes blank at the same time sometimes .. is there any kind of meds or anything for that ? I am taking no meds anymore none of them helped with my anxiety at all

Hi Keb88, I have dilated pupils sometimes when the anxiety is very bad or during panic attacks. I try not to look into the mirror because it freaks me out how I look. I know it's scary but this is nothing dangerous..It's simply how our body reacts when it's faced with a stressful situation. The body produces a lot of adrenaline and among other things, your pupils dilate or you get blurry view. The only way to stop it is to find a coping mechanism that works for you. Do you have a therapist at the moment? If no meds have been helpful, maybe you could try other ways of dealing with anxiety, like CBT, Reiki etc. I hope you will have your anxiety under control soon

Yep - I have had dilated pupils also and yes, it is adrenaline that causes it. It does cause vision to blur. I have anxiety but I also had an overactive thyroid for a while (dilated pupils were the worst then ...) so you might want to consider a checkup/lab work. Counseling, a support group, books and CDs about anxiety management, and meds have helped my anxiety.
