Does xanax help?
Does xanax help immediately? My doctor gave me a prescription of xanax to help me with stress that I'm having. I have an interview next week and I'm very anxious and stressed. Will it help? Only thing is will it make me groggy in the morning? Will it also make me forget to say things? I just need something that will relax me and not make me nervous .

It will sedate you and make you feel less anxious yes. If it's not extended release then it will work right away. It can make you groggy and you can forget things, it all depends on you. If it's your first time taking it I would do a practice run before the interview on a day you have nothing to do and see how it affects you. Good luck!

What kind of things will I forget ? Will I not sound as enthusiastic on the interview ? I plan to take it at night ? Will it affect my performance of my interview? I'm hoping that if it takes away the anxiety then i might be more free in the interview.

I can't give you an exact answer as medication affects everyone differently. That's why I say try it out before the interview and see how you react to it.

It doesn't sedate me, nor make,me forgetful. Takes away, the anxiety, so I can better function.

I take it, when I need it, which is when I have an anxiety attack.

It's fast release from system, why night before?

I've taken it before, during work, court, etc.

Won't it make me sleepy if I take it during the day?

Doesn't do that for me. It's a benzo, not sleeping pill. Where is this worry, coming from?

Is this your first p,med?

I generally worry a lot. I worry that if I respond bad to this med. - it'll be responsible for me doing poorly on this interview .....

You mean, you've had this script, and haven't had an anxiety attack, to take first pill, yet?

For giggles, take one, today, and see your reaction, is what I'd recommend. .25 Mg, is low dose AND, it's nothing like drinking, smoking weed or any other heavy narcotic drug. It's nothing like nicotine, either.....

I've cooked for hundreds of students, interacted in a school filled with kids, amins, teachers, managed employees: i have stood up in court, when needing to be in same room as exh, I've conducted myself, professionally and respectfully. I've gone to some drs appointments, therapy sessions, driven a car, rode an airplane, on a .25Mg dose of xanax..
Though it has street rap, it's a.legally prescribed controlled substance, which i must hand over my id to pick up from pharmacy.
I raise kids, on this. It's not daily, its not psychedelic, it's a medically prescribed drug for anxiety.

The reason for not taking it, the night before, is it's out of your system in a matter of hours.

I took it last night and I felt great in the morning but I can see that it's wearing off now. I slept like a baby. I'm not sure if it will make too drowsy if I take it during the day.

It helps me take the edge off. When the anxiety is bad my ears ring, I get tunnel vision like I can only focus on the fear and I can't concentrate. With xanex it stops it for the most part. I can think again. I can concentrate and remember. It's different for all. It makes my boyfriend numb and dopey so he stays away. To me it is a miracle I don't want to depend on to function. One day at a time.

You wont notice the xanax at all. You will be yourself with the edge taken off your anxiety.

Good luck with the interview.

Xanax in Australia....they have stopped making it,big hullabloo over it, and any Psychs if they could are not allowed to prescribe it...big brother says no. Street people crush it and
shoot it up...so now those of us who really need it and would use it proparly cant get it.
What a B*****.Its not fair

I stopped taking it after 4 days (I was taking 0.125mg) and my anxiety is 20x worse. I don't want to be dependent on this drug. I don't like it .

Then, it probably isn't the anxiety med, for you. What other solutions does your PDoc, recommend for your anxiety?
