So back a few years ago I had broken my dental anxiety but when my OCD became worse it also brought on a bit of GAD/SAD. And I've rescheduled appointments for 1 year now but can't get the courage to go. I'm scared to go and now I'm scared that if I don't go they will not book appointments with me anymore. Help. I'm 1 year overdue for a check up and my old root canal gums have turned red. I know I need to go. But... I... Just...

As a dental nurse ... I advise u to rinse with warm salty water to cleanse the area xxx at least this will keep the redness at bay and also keep it clean xx u also need to try sedation if something affected u so badly ?

Hi Autumn Forest--

I relate to your dental anxiety due to a combination of a variety of dental issues throughout my life, in addition to my anxiety.

Not every dentist I have seen has been open to it before, but some utilize sedation. Is that something you would feel comfortable proposing?

Yes sedation is an option, speak to your surgery about it. Also can you take someone with you?

My place doesn't offer sedition and no one will come with me. I'm just going to have to be my own support.

Muaythailady88--

I am sorry! I was not trying to ignore your prior advise, especially since you are a dental nurse.

I was simply trying to relay something from my own experience.

I'll be more careful with the prior threads in the future.
